Nikita Krylov, 27-year-old MMA fighter, at the age of 10 started karate, became the European champion and got involved in mixed martial arts. Now he takes part in the most popular promotion of the UFC world and trains before the fight with a Brazilian, Glover Teixeira.
Despite the fact that at the moment there are over than 30 Russian fighters who have signed contracts with UFC, just a few of them are in the top 15 in the respective weight category. There are different reasons: some of them do not have the fights they need to promote, others get injuries, the rest are no longer competitive, a few of them cannot fight too often, etc.
Nikita takes 13th place in the semi-heavy division rating (up to 93 kg), his results in MMA include 25 victories and 6 defeats. None of his fights was subject to judging. For a long time MMA fighters, despite the increasing popularity of the sport, were not given due attention and support in Russia. It was also due to rather slow progress of the Russian fighters on the global arena.
The +7 Fund is engaged in creating favorable conditions for training of athletes. We hope that on September 14 in Vancouver it will help Nikita to win his opponent from Brazil. Now Krylov is training in Moscow after the preliminary stage – training camp in Chekhov.
