On October 26, the “Upward Motion” federal educational forum took place in Irkutsk, participated by about 1,000 people. The event was organized by the +7 Regional Development Fund, supported by the “Russian Forest” Association.
“In the regions there is a demand for quality education and case studies organized by successful people who could implement projects in their own city. This forum is essential for our Fund as we believe that the main asset of Russia is its talented people. It is crucial to value people, to help them share good, useful ideas not only with those who live in their city, but also with the country residents,” said Kirill Timofeev, Executive Director of the +7 Fund. The forum program was divided into four information blocks. In the first block the invited speakers told how to start a business in the region and scale it up throughout the country. The second block was focused on the issue of how to build a strong own brand, the third one – how to implement projects that would contribute to a more comfortable and interesting life in the city, and the last one – how to create an urban brand attractive for residents and tourists.
The lectures given by the famous speakers from all over Russia became the main event of the forum. The lecturers included Ilya Varlamov (Moscow) – the famous blogger and journalist, Anastasia Shipitsina (Perm) – the representative of the PERMM Museum of Modern Arts, Guzel Sanzhapova – the social entrepreneur (Moscow, Malyi Turysh), Zbigniew Janicz – the brand manager of Dodo Pizza company (Moscow), Vanya Usovich – the stand-up comedian (Moscow), Dmitry Miromanov – the author of the “BabrBook” project (Irkutsk), and others.
Guzel Sanzhapova, for instance, shared her experience and outlined how she had created a successful honey production company in a small village in the Sverdlovsk Region, organized supplies throughout the country, created jobs and helped restore the settlement infrastructure. All forum participants had an opportunity to ask questions, as well as to communicate with speakers in person.
“When I read the program of this forum, I realized that I wouldn’t miss it: it is a unique event for our city. Many speakers from all over Russia were invited to the forum: from Moscow, Kazan, Perm, Irkutsk. It was very interesting to learn which values are the key to successful projects, what contributes to their scaling up throughout Russia, and receive the information on the opportunities to develop in our city,” said Anna Vasilkova, the forum participant.
After the Forum, the participants will have the opportunity to take part in the next stage. They can choose any of the four focus areas to develop own projects, and then present and defend them. The initiators of the best ideas will receive grants amounting to 500 thousand rubles. upwardmotion.ru.
